This tester is a fully automated cross cutting machine capable of applying crosscuts in a grid pattern on paint coated surfaces, according to the Cross Cut Method. The perpendicularly set blade is set on the surface of the test specimen, and applied force. The test conditions are set so as all cuts reach the base material, and after cutting, the specimen is brushed, covered with tape, and then peeled within 5 minutes, and evaluated of the result. The number of scratchs and pitch can be set via touch panel with No.551- AUTO-1, and 90˚ automatic rotation is added with No.551-AUTO-2. Both testers are more accurate than manual cross cutting.
